Uh… well, lets go with that first one. This comic is a direct homage to 8-Bit Theater, my first webcomic to read back in the day.

*EDIT* I realized when I got to work and had my first sip of coffee, that I didn’t say WHAT the homage was… omg, I’m dense.
Brian Clevinger created 8-bit theater (hense the ‘Clevinger Rule of Thievery’ title) and one of the most ubiquitous quotes related to 8-bit is the that the Thief can steal everything that isn’t “nailed down and on fire”.
